Day-to-day oversight of every construction project.
A general contractor manages the trades, schedule, budget, safety, vendors and communication required to move a build from planning through completion.
A general contractor is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of construction projects, management of vendors and trades, and communication of information to everyone involved throughout the course of a building project.
Sovereign Developments provides these services for both commercial and residential projects across Windsor-Essex.

Contractors plan the entire construction process, defining work scope and methodologies for timely completion.
Management of labour, materials, and equipment distribution at appropriate times.
Hiring and overseeing staff and subcontractors to meet quality standards and timelines.
Keeping projects within financial limits while securing necessary materials and labour.
Ensuring adherence to safety regulations and building codes for workforce and structural integrity.
Maintaining stakeholder communication between clients, architects, and subcontractors.
Since 1990, Sovereign Developments has delivered general contracting across Windsor, LaSalle, Tecumseh, Lakeshore, Essex, Leamington, Amherstburg and Kingsville. Instead of juggling separate designers, permit consultants and trades, our clients sign one contract and deal with one team that manages the entire project, from first sketch to final inspection.
What sets us apart from most general contractors in Windsor-Essex is that design and permitting are managed under one roof. On residential projects, our in-house BCIN-registered designer prepares and submits legal permit drawings directly to the City of Windsor and county municipalities, which shortens pre-construction timelines and keeps design fees inside your construction budget. On commercial projects, we work with licensed engineers and architects and coordinate the entire permitting process for you. As a Tarion-registered builder, our residential work is covered under Ontario’s new home warranty program.
We self-manage scheduling, budgeting, site safety and trade coordination on every job, and we communicate progress to you in plain language, not construction jargon. Whether it’s a custom home, a commercial plaza, a medical clinic or a full renovation, the process is the same: clear scope, honest pricing and a build that finishes the way it was quoted.

We meet on site, review your goals and budget, and give you a straight answer on feasibility before you spend a dollar.
Residential drawings are prepared by our in-house BCIN designer; commercial projects are designed with licensed engineers and architects. We submit permits on your behalf.
You receive a detailed scope of work and transparent pricing, so you know exactly what is included before construction starts.
We schedule and supervise all trades, manage inspections, and keep you updated at every milestone through to completion.
Final walkthrough, deficiency list, occupancy sign-off and warranty coverage, including Tarion on new residential builds.
Custom homes, additions, ADUs, commercial buildouts, plazas, restaurants, medical facilities and full-property renovations.
A general contractor manages your entire construction project: planning, budgeting, hiring and supervising trades, ordering materials, coordinating inspections and keeping the job on schedule. You deal with one company and one contract instead of managing a dozen subcontractors yourself.
